Council confirms contractor for new homes in Pontywaun
Caerphilly County Borough Council has confirmed it will work in partnership with contractor Jones Brothers (Henllan) Ltd to bring much needed new affordable homes to Pontywaun.
Jones Brothers, appointed following a competitive procurement process, is one of the leading Civil Engineering and Construction Companies in South Wales. They will work with the Council’s Caerphilly Homes team to transform the site of the former Castle Court sheltered housing scheme into 16 affordable, energy-efficient homes, helping meet local housing needs while creating a place the community can be proud of.
Preparatory work will begin in the coming months, with demolition of the existing building expected in early autumn before construction gets underway.
Cllr Shayne Cook, Caerphilly Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing, said “This is an exciting milestone for the project and for the local community. These new homes will provide much-needed, high-quality housing while breathing new life into an underused site. We’re looking forward to working with Jones Brothers to deliver a development that will benefit local people for years to come.”
Gareth Jones, Managing Director at Jones Brothers, added “We are delighted to be working with Caerphilly Homes to bring 16 high-quality, sustainable and affordable homes to Pontywaun, and we look forward to playing our part in the regeneration of the site.”
Residents will receive regular updates as the project progresses, including advance notice of key construction activities.
